Profile:-
Warren
Brown
- Instructor Trainer |

Qualifications
PADI Course Director
DSAT Trimix Instructor Trainer.
Rebreather Instructor Trainer.
TDI Advanced Trimix Instructor.
IANTD Technical Instructor.
EFR Instructor Trainer. |
I started diving in 1989
with a try dive at Loughton swimming pool, then spent the next few
years completing mainly holiday dives wherever I happened to be. My main passion at that
time was Karate but after 15 years of fairly serious training and
national level competitions (untold broken fingers and toes and 2
dislocated shoulders)
I decided it was time to do something a little less painful that would
allow me to broaden my horizons beyond the inside of the UK's sports
centres.
So I became a diving instructor, so far I have dived and taught in the
UK, Middle East, Caribbean, Thailand, Malaysia, Canary Islands, USA,
and all over the Mediterranean. Since 1997 I have run and owned PADI 5
star dive centres in the UK and currently freelance as a PADI Course
Director and Tech Instructor Trainer at dive centres around the
world. I'm very much into my technical diving and the opportunities it
has opened for me, I love wrecks and all places dark.
For the future I'd like to spend more time diving than teaching. I
think 10 years hard labour is enough for anyone!! |

Profile:-
Julius Bates - Instructor |

Qualifications
PADI IDC Staff Instructor.
DSAT Tec Deep Instructor.
EFR Instructor.
Drager SCCR Instructor.
TDI Advanced Trimix Diver. |
I got into diving by
accident. A friend at work was going to learn to dive and asked if
I wanted to join him, I agreed and we went along to Warren's dive
school for a try dive. I was hooked as soon as my face was
underwater and I discovered that I could still breath! I qualified
as a PADI Open Water diver in 1998.
I
read everything written about diving in all its forms and quickly
realised that I wanted to get down to the darker depths to visit the
untouched and lost ships that lie there. Happily I had an excellent
instructor and met a great group of divers and have now achieved my
ambitions of becoming an Advanced Trimix diver, Inspiration CCR
diver and a technical diving instructor. I have worked my way
through each level of PADI diver training and became an instructor
in 2003 - now a Staff Instructor.
My passion is still
the so called ‘technical’ side of diving with all the ‘palava’ that
goes with it but there is no feeling like being able to introduce
new divers to the fascination that is the underwater world, whether
it’s their first try-dive or leading them on a Red Sea holiday. The
things you get to see are amazing and wonderful and you never stop
learning.
(Yeah OK Julius
but it's a career profile not Miss World!!! WB) |

Profile:-
Peter
Hollingsworth
- Instructor |

Qualifications
PADI IDC Staff Instructor.
EFR Instructor.
TDI Advanced Trimix Diver. |
We're still awaiting
Peters profile, so until it arrives we've made up our own.
Peter,
aka Pete the Tan, aka George Clooney learnt to dive somewhere
extremely exotic. He was a committed warm water diver until booking
onto one of Warren's UK Rescue Diver courses some time in 1999. After
much cajoling and gentle micky taking Pete purchased a drysuit to go
in his already bulging dive bag. Unfortunately Pete took the term
"dry" too literally and we are sure the suit hasn't been anywhere even
slightly damp for a few years now.
Pete is probably the most travelled (5* of course) instructor on the
team. He has dived in many beautiful places around the world. He loves
the Maldives with it's Manta Rays and Whale Sharks and is a "Manta
Diver" specialty instructor. Pete can be found on pretty much all of
our overseas trips and is always the first to buy a round (or 6).
On a serious note, as
well as being an excellent instructor Pete is a very capable technical
diver with masses of experience, he loves all aspects of diving and
travel and is just about to launch himself into the world of
rebreathers.

Profile:-
Bill
Meadows
- Instructor |

Qualifications
PADI Staff Instructor.
EFR Instructor. |
We're still awaiting
Bill's profile, so until it arrives we've made up our own.
Warren
met Bill as an delinquent teenager (Bill not Warren) in 1998 when he
applied to train up to Divemaster on the Labour party's revolutionary,
ground breaking attempt to get Britain working The New Deal
- don't ask! To cut a long story short, Tony Blair paid for
Billy's training and thank you very much. After a while it became
apparent that training to be a PADI Divemaster in London probably
wasn't going to increase Billy's employability and Bill had to fund
the rest of his training himself.
Although quite mad - and I don't mean that in the typical dive centre
website "we're all crazy because we wear silly hats and drink beer
when we're diving" style, Bill actually has certificates to prove it -
Billy is an excellent instructor and very busy diver. Like most of the
team he is an ardent holidayer and UK diver.
Billy is also the team SMB Deployment Chief Instructor, his prowess
with the inflating sausage is legendary. |

Profile:-
Steve
Game
- Instructor |

Qualifications
PADI Staff Instructor.
EFR Instructor.
TDI Trimix Diver |
We're still awaiting
Steve's profile, so until it arrives we've made up our own.
Steve started diving in Thailand where he lived and worked as a
Divemaster for 6 months on the famous diving island of Koh Tao. Having
completed 100's of dives in Thailand Steve returned to the UK where he
carried on his career with us and became an instructor in 2003. As
well as Thailand and the UK Steve has worked as an instructor in
southern Spain.
Steve, like Peter, loves
to travel and can be found on most of our dive trips and is never far
behind Pete when it comes to buying a round.
Steve plays a key role
in our instructional team and brings a wealth of experience and
enthusiasm. Unfortunately he is rubbish at pool (not swimming pool but
the pool you play with balls and a cue) and is a terrible loser.

Profile:-
Jim
Gould & Tish Reid
- Instructors (can't have one without the
other) |
Jim

Qualifications
PADI MSDT.
EFR Instructor.
PADI Nitrox Instructor
Draeger Rebreather Instructor |
We got involved in scuba after retiring from
messing about on top of the water in sculling boats! After going
through the initial training courses for a year we hooked up with
Warren when Jim bumped into him at a Dive Shop and after 18months
apprenticeship with him became PADI Instructors. After a further year of
teaching in muddy lakes and pools, inland quarries and freezing UK
waters we escaped to the Egyptian and Sudanese Red Sea for 2 years of
warm water diving as Safari dive guides. We are PADI MSDT, Speciality
Instructors in a whole host of disciplines, nitrox instructors, Jim is
also a Draegar Dolphin Instructor and qualified Gas Blender Tish loves
hanging around the Partner Goby burrows, watching the interaction of
the resident gobies and their workaholic shrimp partners - or being
surrounded by hundreds of Barracuda in the Blue catching glimpses of
the Hammerheads of the plateaus. Jim excels in pottering along the
reef walls, hopefully with the current, while spotting the camouflage
fish - crocodile, scorpion, stone fish etc. - very effectively. |

David

PADI OWSI.
TDI Advanced Trimix Diver.
TDI Inspiration Rebreather Diver.
EFR Instructor. |
We're still awaiting
David's profile, so until it arrives we've made
up our own.
Dave learnt to dive with
Warren in the late 90's, he is veteran of many a dive holiday and a
keen UK diver. Dave is an accomplished technical diver and together
with Warren and Julius has been to some very deep, dark places. Dave
now dives an Inspiration Rebreather.
Dave likes his toys and
always has the shiniest new kit. He was even picked up by a helicopter
after one of our dives last year!!! Flash git!!! |

|
Profile:-
Geoff
Walpole
- Instructor |

Qualifications
PADI Staff Instructor.
EFR Instructor. |
We're still awaiting Geoff's profile, so until it arrives we've made
up our own.
Like Warren, Geoff has a
strong background in Karate and spent many years training with some of
the worlds best. Warren and Geoff met one morning when Warren was sitting in the
dive club van eating a sandwich and reading the newspaper, Geoff on
his way to work saw the van with the learn to dive stickers on the
side, stopped, ran across the road and frightened the life out of
Warren by banging on the window and gesticulating wildly.
Warren
reluctantly wound down the window and Geoff explained that he had always wanted
to learn to dive but had never had the chance, even after having lived
on the Devon coast for 15 years!
And the rest is history, Geoff is now one of the clubs most active
instructors and divers. He has been one of Warren's keenest students
with a massive appetite for knowledge and put in more hours studying
before his instructor exams than anyone we can remember.
Geoff is currently
working towards his technical diving qualifications. If he ever offers
you a game of Pool don't bet any money on it!!
Geoff and Becci are currently working in Thailand -

|
Profile:-
Becci
Butler
- Instructor |

Qualifications
PADI Staff Instructor.
EFR Instructor. |
We're still awaiting Becci's profile, so until it arrives we've made
up our own.
Becci
was brought along to the club by Geoff, her partner. After first
declaring that she did not want to learn diving we persuaded her to
take the plunge. She now loves it and will soon be taking her
instructor exams.
She is also into fast motor bikes and out rides all of the male
instructors (most of who have bikes), has a degree in engineering and
is part time model.
She is the biggest Pool Shark (cue & balls) we know, obviously the
sign of a misspent youth!!

Profile:-
Lee
Clarke
- Instructor |

Qualifications
PADI MSDT.
EFR Instructor.
TDI Trimix Diver |
We're still awaiting
Lee's profile, so until it arrives we've made up our own.
In the real world Lee is
a chef, he has worked in some of London's top establishments with some
of the best including Gordon Ramsey and Marco Pierre White.
As with his cooking Lee
has a passion for diving, he trained with us from PADI Advanced level
after taking his open water course in the Turks and Caicos islands,
Lee gained his instructor certification in 2004 and has worked as a
part time instructor for us ever since.
Lee has worked
tirelessly with our students since becoming an instructor and is a
very respected member of the team, He is always keen to experience new

|
Profile:-
Rebecca
Lee
- Instructor |

Qualifications
PADI OWSI.
EFR Instructor. |
We're still awaiting Rebecca's profile, so until it arrives we've made
up our own.
Rebecca
is manager of a famous London Spa, her background is in
catering, she's an expert on fine wines and comes in very handy when
deciding which plonk to choose when we're on a club night out.
Rebecca started diving
with us in 2002 and went right through the system to become an
instructor in 2005. She is now a very important part of our
instructional team, is very calm and patient in the water and excellent
in the classroom.
